Patan Durbar Square

Patan Durbar Square is situated at the centre of Lalitpur city. It is one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. One of its attraction is The Ancient Royal Palace where Malla Kings of Lalitpur resided. You will get to see different temples such as the Krishna Mandir which is an archaeological milestone. The museum in the Durbar Square is also an interesting place to visit which displays an array of artwork. Overall Patan Durbar Square is the first place to visit when one is visiting Patan.

A large temple is devoted to the Goddess Bagalamukhi in Patan. This temple is crowded mainly during Thursdays. This is a wonderful site to visit when you are visiting Patan. The place is just a few walks away from Patan Durbar Square.

Newari Food

Patan is also famous for its food items. The spicy newari food is a delight of Patan. Here you will be able to find small shops and hotels selling newari food such as Wo, Sukuti, Chhwela etc. The food is usually accompanied by a local drink known as Thwo.
